Toyota rav4 not starting no crank
1) engine speed. 2) MAF airflow. 3) Fuel Pressure. Both symptoms - reluctant starting, albeit non stating when hot, and poor starting when cold are most likely caused by the same item. If I was to randomly guess, I would suggest you might have a reluctant crank sensor or TDC/Cam sensor, they often get worse when hot.2) if you have a toggle switch for your alarm flip it to the opposite direction. Then turn the key in off position. 3) key in the ignition and turn it 2 clicks right again. 4) flip the toggle switch in the opposite direction again. Then turn the key in the off position again. 5) Now try to start your engine!Another way to do that is to take a jumper cable directly from the battery + to the starter post, and another starter cable directly from the battery - to the engine ground. This will make the starter spin if the starter is OK, because it bypasses everything else.

Have read nearly every post on here related to the issue in similar models. It is not unusual with a 12 year old car to have the crank position sensor fail. It provides the timing for the spark ignition and these when starting to fail will cause the symptoms described. It is a $35 part for most cars and takes very little time to replace.Fix #1: Examine the Battery. Checking the battery must be your first action. To begin, check the connections to make sure they are all secure. Additionally, you should make sure that the connectors don't have any rust. Try turning the key on without starting it. Wait 30 seconds or so and then turn it to start. If it starts right up, it may be a balky fuel pump. Jump the two big terminals for the relay, if it turns over, the relay is bad. Otherwise, wiring from relay to starter or starter itself is bad. It won't crank over like a dead battery or it cranks but 1) Fuel injectors. 2) Fuel pump. 3) Fuel something in the gas tank that is getting worn/too dirty and hot fuel causes issue. My brother in law is stuck now and he cant hear the pump prime while the issue is happening so fuel pump is definitely looking like the issue but I need to test it more before I invest further. To me these symptoms point to rust in the fuel tank being a leading candidate for the cause of the problem here. The rust may have fouled your new fuel pump and/or regulator as well.
