First bunch of areas in Hirschfelden are densely forested, Layton Lake is way more open and the lakesides are peppered with needzones. I started in the german territory and played 60 hrs there before I moved over and have to say Layton Lake is way easier and also imho more populated. Due to their size moose and elk are pretty retardproof.The first map I cleared was Layton Lakes, the mission where I had to kill black bears with a .270 and 100 quick kill took me quite a while. This might be partly because I was very new to the game, but I found it hard to get enough penetration on the bear when it was doing anything but standing up on its hind legs to hit heart or lungs.

Also, the moose lives the same places as whitetail and Roosevelt has the same as blacktail.
