The way I play it is: Level 1 Bard, have 16/16 Dex and Cha dump Str, don't dump Wis or Int. Pick Faerie fire, Sleep, Longstrider and Disguise self for spells. With Faerie fire you can kill the general+mind flayer on the nautiloid pretty easily for extra EXP and loot.
