Received 17 Likes on 17 Posts. I believe it may have synthetic oil in from factory. The rear axle is a Dana axle (should be a D80) so I believe it takes a 75w90 or 80w90 gear oil. (check your owners manual) But I would put synthetic in it regardless. It is easy to change diff oil just use the proper sealant to seal the cover.No need to disassemble the brake lines. The vent tube itself mounts the brake line assembly to the axle housing. This is the part that was blocked with debris. Clean it out with the help of a small tool and spray it clean with brake cleaner. The Mobil1 75w140 is pricey at $17.99 a quart. It's weird because the Mobil1 75w90 in only $9-$10 a quart and the Royal Purple was the same price for either 75w140 or 75w90 at about $10 a quart.
